Veterinary practices should better prepare for emergency patients during the hot summer months with many pets affected by the intense heat.
The increase in patients often leads to practices struggling to cope with a busy waiting room and the additional number of owners seeking medical attention for their pets.
Stephanie Vaughan-Jones, Channel Manager at Moneypenny, said: “We’ve spoken to a lot of vets over the past few months who are struggling to cope with the high number of patients they are seeing during hot periods.”
“Their busy practices mean that staff aren’t able to answer the phone as normal,” Stephanie added. “So pet owners aren’t getting through when they have an emergency. It’s during these busy times that vets rely on a telephone answering service to ensure no calls slip through the net.
